And God is able to make ALL grace abound to you, so that in ALL things, at ALL times, having ALL that you need, you will abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8
What’s so graceful about aging?
As we get older, good food suddenly tends to accumulate on our hips. One glass of wine too many is guarantee of a headache we didn’t suffer when we were 25. A night out will certainly lead to sore joints and a backache in the morning. Are we really supposed to give up on all the good stuff in life, just so we can age gracefully? — No, never!
Sure, aging will not escape any of us. We’re better off accepting the fact. But we should NOT accept that the second half of our journey becomes a chore! How you choose to live out your life is your choice to make. And yes, some changes have to be made. But the right changes can mean that our best years are ahead of us.
By now we have ALL withstood countless challenges along the way, myself included. But all of them have become lessons learnt, stories to share and memories to remember. No matter where we are in life, the greatest challenge remains getting the most out of what lies ahead. — Let’s make the next chapter the most exciting one so far!
What do have to look forward to? Perhaps that month long trip across the plains in your RV? Or that book you have been putting off writing? Or simply finding yourself again after the kids are grown and gone? Wherever you are on your journey, one thing is clear: Step #1 is maintaining great health and wellness so no back pain or low energy level can hold you back.
Growing older with grace and dignity begins with the realization that health and
wellness includes taking care of both your mind, soul and body. Gym membership, water aerobics and bi-yearly checkups, will not get you there. You need to indulge in the good things life has to offer. Experience the beautiful moments in amazing company.
Age Me Gracefully was born out of sleepless nights of hot flashes and tossing and turning and wondering; how the heck can I ever do this GRACEFULLY? Today it is a community of like-minded women, who all value our minds, souls, and bodies. As women who have experienced life, we inspire each other to live the most satisfying life possible, and finish the race with grace, respect and dignity.
Together we learn, that we shouldn’t give up on the things that make us happy — however small or large. That glass in the evening, can come from a bottle of exquisite clean-crafted wine, that won’t bring about a hangover. Our skin can achieve much of its youthful health and glow with a few carefully selected skincare products. And those sore joints can be helped with CBD oils and natural supplements. So there’s nothing that has to stand between us and the good life.
Let’s change the way we have been taught to think and feel about getting older!
Things do not have to break down. Our memory does not have to fail us. And by God, by now we have lived through enough stuff to break us 100 times over, so why let aging be anything but an amazing ride and the time in our lives?
